Resulting of an inedited partnership between Furnas Centrais Elétricas and Votorantim Siderurgia, the Resende´s energy substation start operations on April , 6th. The enterprise generates 500kV of tension allowing to the siderurgic spend less with electricity, once the costs with the primary net are lower.
“Another gain: the substation was build inside the company plant. So, no energy is lost in the transmission, and the power is integrally used” says Milton Ourívio, infrastructure coordinator of Lima & Zanette – one of the outsourcers. The substation supplies, initially, only the Water Treatment Station of the Unit. “From August, it will supply all the plant”, informs Ourivio.
